Krabi 18th - 21st May

i think i must make it a point that i update my blog from now on. it's been more than six months since i last wrote! time flies... sigh...

let's get it started with my recent Krabi trip with my ex-colleagues. they are the only ex-colleagues that i still keep in touch with. not because i am anti-social, but think of it, i don't really have close colleagues at the second and third company that i worked at. they're all my bosses!! and i hardly go out with my current colleague due to different lifestyle we have.

anyway, there were six of us in the recent Krabi trip. we booked the tickets end last year and beside Irene, nobody has done any homework about our itinineray there. Luckily we have Irene, else we wouldn't know what to do over there.

it's quite disappointed when we saw the first beach. really, it's nothing like Phuket or Bali but more like Port Dickson. Gosh... you know how we felt at that moment??

now you know what i meant?

luckily we had some love during our lunch... :p

we took a tuk-tuk to Krabi town thought we could spend some time there shopping, massaging, sight-seeing.... but nothing came up like our expectation. Krabi town is quite dead. i think Muar is more happening than Krabi.

Since it's quiet, it's dead, we have to somehow entertain ourselves.

don't say anything, i know it's stupid but i was really boring.

and we decided to go back hotel for a swim. the swimming is pretty big with a bar right beside.

we asked the direction from the hotel receptionist and finally we feel we come to the right place. stalls selling souvenirs, restaurants, massage parlour, pubs... ya ya, these are what we're looking for. interesting enough, we found a promo board by one of the pubs say "gay show at 9pm". hehehe.... the guys didn't want to go but we insisted. just a small hut but the waiter-turned-performer starts burning candles and dripping wax all over when show starts. and of course, we were the only three ladies in the house. hehe...

2nd Day

we rented a van to fetch us around. Elephant trekking, tiger caves and hot spring were the itinineray for 2nd day.

nothing to shout about besides the superb lunch we had.
Tom Yam Kuung with Fresh Water Prawns
Grilled Prawn

and many many more....

we went for the hot spring after lunch. 40 minutes journey from the restaurant and without wasting more time, we catch up with some sleep. :p

it's just a small pool of water. luckily it's off peak when we were there. so we had the place basically all to ourselves. the water temperature is about 40 - 42 degree celsius. most of us felt a little dizzy when we get up. it's actually not a good idea at all soaking ourselves in the 42 degree water in the hot afternoon.

and of course, we continued drinking at night... :)

3rd Day

we went island hopping on the 3rd day. too bad that Miko couldn't join us as the waves might not be that forgiveable for pregnant woman, don't mention the speed boat with strong waves.

Ed and I on board

this is a lagoon. no access if it's low tide.

phi phi island has nicer beach but it's more commercialised though. the whole island is full with tourist.

it's raining heavily when we were on our back to mainland. we were all wet and cold and glad that we were all back on shore safely. Snorkerling was nothing as great. I think Redang Marine Park has got more to see if I remember correctly.

overall, the trip was nice. drinking drinking and drinking. and the companion is of most important. :) more to come ...
